AirBuoyant has just reached an agreement with the Board of Aviation Commissioners at the Anderson Municipal Airport (airport designator: "AID") to purchase 3 acres of land in its new "Aero Park" area for construction of AirBuoyant's proposed new 15,000 square foot headquarters building. The facility will consist of a 10,000 square foot hangar area with 28-foot ceilings for R&D and production, as well as around 5000 square feet of offices attached outside of the building. It will be a LEED-certified green building, and will have solar panels and wind turbines, in addition to a geo-thermal heat pump system along with R-44 insulation to make it a virtually external-energy neutral building.
AirBuoyant intends to break ground on the building this year, with move-in to take place in Q2, 2009. We will update progress on this page as news develops.
